Back pain ozone injection

backacheResearchers have discovered that those suffering from back pain may be able to find relief from one single ozone injection into the back with many trying the new treatment pain free for as long as six months and more.  About 66% of those that have had an injection of ozone gas into the back said that the injection helped to relieve the pain that they suffered due to disc problems in the back.  Ozone is an atmospheric gas that can be both harmful and beneficial to the human body depending on where it is harvested from the atmosphere.

The research involved 327 patients that all suffered from chronic long term back problems that had not yet found relief from other more traditional back pain treatments.  It is just one in a long line of studies that has looked at how ozone can have pain relieving side effects when used in conjunction with certain areas of the human body.  The actual purpose of the ‘ozone’ layer is to protect humans from the ultraviolet rays of the sun as it sits about thirty to six miles above the surface of the Earth and absorbs the sun rays before they hit the earth.

However, at ground level a great deal of the ozone is polluted which can also inflame the lungs and damage the airways.  Over the last few years pain management researchers have seen that it holds a great potential for those who suffer from herniated discs which is when discs in the spine no longer work as shock absorbers as they become inflamed and damaged.  Traditional treatments for the problem usually involve a combination of painkillers and physiology but most people end up eventually needing surgery in order to relieve chronic reoccurring pain.
