Aspirin Use In Relieving Back Pain

070505_aspirin_09.jpgAspirin has been used over many centuries to ease pain and bring relief to conditions such as back aches, headaches, containing any form of inflammation, and migraines. The active ingredient in Aspirin is responsible for its healing action in the body.

Aspirin works in the body by blocking the production of chemicals known as prostaglandins. These are short lived chemicals that are naturally produced in the body and bring about pain and inflammation. Aspirin is known to be safe and effective but there are people who have recorded severe side effects on taking the medicine. It is important to seek medical advice before starting on any medication.

Symptoms of side effects associated with Aspirins include stomach and cardiovascular problems. Patients should get information on how to take the medicine, the correct dosage to cure the problem, how to store it, and how to stop using it. This helps in preventing addiction and curbing dependency on the medicine.

The short lived chemicals known as prostaglandins are made from fatty acids and are important in other body functions. They are involved in functions such as influencing pain signals, regulation of inflammation, maintaining tissue, blood clotting and stimulation of cells. The body has different types of prostaglandins which function differently in the body.

Medications based on non-steroidal anti-inflammation relieve and ease pain in the body by reducing formation of prostaglandin. As a result these drugs cause unwanted side effects in the body.

Patients are advised against carrying out self diagnosis and self medication with pain killers. Visit a doctor if symptoms persist or there is an adverse reaction to the drug being used.
